01 Jun The Bizkaiko Txakolina & Musika gastrocultural festival returns to Leioa
Leioa 06-01-22 After the stoppage forced by the pandemic, the Bizkaiko Txakolina eta Musika festival returns for its third edition. The party will take place in the Mendibile Park in Leioa, where the headquarters of the DO Bizkaiko Txakolina is located, on the weekend of June 18-19.
This is the third edition of a cultural gastro festival designed for the whole family to enjoy. An excellent opportunity to spend the day outdoors enjoying live music while tasting Biscay txakoli paired with a pintxo made for the occasion or with an Idiazabal cheese, while the little ones give free rein to their imagination in workshops designed just for them.
The Mendibile restaurant will offer a varied menu of small plates and pintxos inspired by the typical culinary creations of the ancient Txakolis.
There will also be a tasting area with a great sample of the diversity of txakolis from the Bizkaiko Txakolina wineries.
A WIDE AND VARIED MUSIC PROGRAM
The stage located in the Mendibile park will have an extensive musical program with concerts by the bands The Van, Lorelei Green, Afrika Bibang, Swingtronics or Twist! DJ.
On Saturday the party will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the music of the band The Van, which will be followed at 6:00 p.m. by Lorelei Green and Afrika Bibang, at 7:30 p.m.
On Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Swingtronics will perform and at 2:30 p.m. it will be the turn of Twist! DJ, who will close the musical program.
TASTINGS AND WORKSHOPS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
The first workshop will begin on Saturday, June 18 at 12:30 with the pairing of txakoli from Bizkaia with pintxos prepared for the occasion by the Mendibile Restaurant. The tasting will be directed by the sommelier Ales Rueda.
At the same time, the children’s workshop will open for boys and girls between 4 and 10 years old to make flying frisbees and experiment with colors.
At 7:00 pm there will be a pairing of Bizkaiko Txakolina and Queso Idiazabal with sommelier Nerea Cuenco and Marisol Vicente, who will explain the characteristics of the cheese.
On Sunday, 19, at 12:30 the older ones will be able to enjoy a blind tasting of Bizkaiko Txakolina by the sommelier Elena Urigüen, while the younger ones will have a T-shirt workshop led by Nagore Txintxurreta at their disposal.
The tastings are priced at €10 and the children’s workshops are €6. Registrations can be made on the website bizkaikotxakolina.eus/btmusika.
