
23 Sep “Mahasti Artean – Into the vineyards” festival in Bakio
Leioa 09-03-2020. On the weekend of September 11 to 13, Bakio will become the capital of txakoli with the celebration of the first edition of the Festival Mahasti Artean – Entre Viñedos, organized by the Regulatory Council of the DO Bizkaiko Txakolina and Jata Ondo, the Association of Uribe Rural Development.
Tastings of Bizkaiko Txakolina from various wineries in the DO, music and open-air cinema, picnics and tours of the local vineyards, a show cooking, pairing menus and a pintxo contest in which a dozen hotel establishments in Bakio participate. , complete an extensive program of activities aimed at making Bizkaia txakoli and the Uribe region known as a leisure destination, organized strictly following all the precautionary measures required by the time we live and with very limited capacity.
The weekend will open on Friday, the 11th, at 8:30 p.m., with a tasting of the txakolis from the Zabala and Galdames wineries paired with pintxos km 0 participants in the contest that will take place on Saturday and Sunday, days of the event , in the framework of a sunset in the vineyard. Half an hour later Iker Lauroba will offer a concert under the stars at the Gorrondona winery, with a tasting of txakolis from the winery itself and from the Ulibarri Artzaiak winery.
At 9:00 p.m., the Zabala winery will be the scene of a concert by The Pushermen accompanied by txakolis from the winery and the Gorka Izagirre de Larrabetzu winery.
Half an hour later, the screening of the documentary ‘Made in Basque Country’ will begin at the Doniene Gorrondona winery, with its own txakoli and that from the Magalarte Lezama winery.
A showcooking that will begin at 12:00, and will last for two hours, led by chef Gastrolophitekus and sommelier Bittor San Miguel, will close the weekend at Txakolingunea.
