13 Aug Bizkaiko Txakolina will do virtual tastings to continue promoting txakoli

Leioa 04-23-20 The Covid-19 pandemic has also affected Bizkaiko Txakolina. This year the traditional Day of Bizkaiko Txakolina will not be held, an event that due to its multitudinous nature is completely unfeasible in current circumstances. Nor will the sixth edition of the Branke Jaialdia scheduled for May or the Bizkaiko Txakolina eta Musika Festival, which was so successful in its two previous editions and was consolidating itself as a classic in the DO calendar, will be held at the Mendibile headquarters. Last March, the sixth edition of the Solidarity Tasting of the Rotary Club of Bilbao was already suspended.

The Regulatory Council also continues to work with more impetus than ever to try to overcome the situation in the best possible way and ensure that the Txakoli from Bizkaia comes out stronger and is more present than ever in our homes, promoting its responsible consumption at our tables at the wait for normality to return and we can enjoy our wine again in the hospitality establishments.

The Council has been forced to cancel the wide agenda of promotional activities that it had planned for these months, but that does not mean that Txakoli de Bizkaia will no longer be present. The social networks will host the events that were planned to take place live.

In this way, the presentation of txakolis de Bizkaia that was going to take place this month at the A`Barrra restaurant in Madrid, will take place virtually on the @ fedek1 Instagram profile. From the hand of the wine expert journalist Federico Oldemburg, various guests from the world of hospitality and sommelier will discover the quality of Txakoli from Bizkaia, following the explanations of the producers themselves.

These virtual tastings will be held every Friday at 7:00 p.m.

In addition to these virtual tastings, on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. we can have the aperitif live with a sommelier or hotelier and a producer from Bizkaiko Txakolina, on the Instagram profile of the Denomination of Origin, @bizkaikotxakolina.
Since the bars and restaurants we used to go to on weekends to have an aperitif find themselves with the shutter down, Bizkaiko Txakolina opens its window so that we can virtually enjoy those bar conversations and a glass of Bizkaiko Txakolina in company.
